Welcome to planDisney, Liza! I'm glad you ran to us with your question, but I'm sorry to hear about your travel delays! I hope by the time this answer finds you, you will have safely arrived to the Most Magical Place on Earth so you can tackle tomorrow's
Walt Disney World Resort Marathon!
Liza, my panelist pals
Jana and
Melissa have been running all over the parks the last few days, participating in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon races, and they'll be lining up early tomorrow to tackle the Marathon as well, so I reached out to them to get you all the information you will need! The great news is yes, you will still be able to run your race, and here are the other tips they shared with me to help you out:
- Look for the Runner Relations tent at the runners area at the EPCOT parking lot tomorrow morning; they advised you to arrive early (keeping in mind that the start time for the Marathon is half an hour earlier than the other races) as the weather delays may result in a longer-than-usual line of other runners in the same situation.
- Be sure to bring your photo ID with you to claim your bib the morning of, and be aware it may not be personalized. You should be able to get a bib to run the race, but you may have to get your shirt after the race is over at a different location.
Liza, I hope this helps and that you are able to enjoy every magical mile of the Marathon you've undoubtedly worked so hard to prepare for! We're cheering for you here at
planDisney, and hope you'll come back and see us again real soon!
You can go the distance,
Alison
