Hello there, Misty! Welcome back to planDisney. I’m thrilled to help a fellow runner plan some magical miles during your Walt Disney World vacation.
You’re a girl after my own heart! I’m in training mode pretty much year-round, so I understand the urge to lace up those running shoes even on vacation. While most guests log tons of steps at the theme parks, some of us just need that peaceful early-morning run to start the day right, and I’m always happy to share tips from my own Disney miles!
Let’s talk about the options near
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. While there isn’t an official jogging trail like at some other Resorts, there is a sidewalk that connects All-Star Sports, Music, and Movies. It’s about a mile round trip from one end to the other, and while the scenery is minimal (you’ll mostly be running alongside Buena Vista Drive), it’s flat and easy to follow. I’ve used it for quick shakeout runs myself when I’ve stayed in that area.
Now for your question about making your run a bit more adventurous by heading toward
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I did call Guest Services, and they advised against it due to the busy road. However, like you, I’ve peeked at the route on Google Maps, and yes, there is a sidewalk along West Buena Vista Drive that stretches all the way from the All-Stars to Coronado Springs. The sidewalk is on the opposite side of the road from the resorts, so you’ll need to carefully use the crosswalks to access it. Please only run during daylight hours, stay alert to traffic (insert my best “mom voice” here!), and be mindful as you approach the resort entrance. There isn’t a dedicated sidewalk into Coronado Springs itself, so that last stretch requires extra caution.
Once you’re inside Coronado Springs, though, oh, what a treat! The paths around Lago Dorado are perfect for runners. There’s a lovely loop around the water that’s about 0.75 miles, and you can stretch it to over a mile by exploring the bridges and dipping into the Ranchos section. I love running there; it’s peaceful, scenic and gives you that “vacation vibe” with palm trees and the water glistening in the morning sun.
And if you want to treat yourself post-run, I highly recommend a stop at the
Barcelona Lounge inside Gran Destino Tower. Their coffee creations are next-level delicious. It's my personal favorite way to reward myself after clocking a few miles!
I hope this helps you plan some safe and satisfying runs, Misty. If you ever want to compare Disney routes or chat about training, I’m always here for a runner-to-runner check-in. Wishing you magical mornings and happy running at Walt Disney World!
Warmly,
Eean
