Hi - I’m staying at Shades of Green for a 2 night stay and purchasing the MYW ticket from them. Is SOG considered a Disney property when it comes to making Lightning Lane selections 7 days in advance? Will I be able to use Disney transportation? Thanks

    Hi Michelle!

Welcome back to planDisney! How exciting that your next Disney trip is getting so close!

I’m happy to let you know that you will be able to purchase Lightning Lane services and book your pre-selections 7 days prior to your check-in date at Shades of Green. Just make sure your hotel reservation and park tickets are linked to your My Disney Experience account before your booking window opens.

Your booking window will open at 7 AM Eastern, and I recommend hopping on the My Disney Experience app right at that time for the best chance of snagging the Lightning Lanes you have your heart set on.

Now, moving on to transportation!  Shades of Green provides its own bus transportation to the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. You’ll find the bus stop by the lower lobby near Express Cafe.

It’s good to note that while the bus will take you directly to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, it will drop you off at the Transportation and Ticket Center if you’ll be heading to Magic Kingdom or Epcot. So, give yourself some extra travel time if you’re heading to those parks!

If you’ll be going over to Magic Kingdom, you can take the Monorail or Ferry from the Transportation and Ticket Center. My family split up and had a friendly competition during our last trip to Disney World, and the Monorail team won by a LOT. Of course, I was on the Ferry team, and my son still loves to rub it in! The Ferry is nice and relaxing, though, so you really can’t go wrong.

If you’ll be heading to Epcot, you’ll take the Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center.  There’s something pretty magical about the Monorail looping around the front of Epcot before it makes it to the station. It really builds the excitement for the start of your park time.

I hope you have a great trip! Let us know if you have any other questions.
