Hi! I'm going to be staying at Pop Century but visiting all of the parks. I was wondering, when visting Magic Kingdom- if I want to take the Monorail to Epcot and then walk back to the Skyliner, what's the latest Epcot will allow me to enter?

Hi there Sararose, it's nice to see ya here at planDisney!

What's so great about staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort is the ability to take advantage of its prime location at the end of the Disney Skyliner route, connecting you to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT during your adventures around Walt Disney World Resort. It sounds like you're looking to use EPCOT as a way to connect you from Magic Kingdom Park back to your room at the end of the day, and while you're probably aware that you can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation directly back to Disney's Pop Century Resort - utilizing multiple forms of Walt Disney World Resort Transportation is definitely the more fun, scenic way to do it!

I'm personally someone who spends a lot of time conducting planDisney research late into the evenings and have often traversed EPCOT from its main entrance to International Gateway just to get to Disney's BoardWalk and here's what you can currently expect based on my most recent experiences:

    • The Cast Members will continue to let guests enter during EPCOT's scheduled Park Hours on that day; though as with anything, policies may be subject to change without prior notice but I do often observe folks dashing in down to the wire for the chance to watch Luminous The Symphony of Us which typically begins just as EPCOT closes for the evening.
    • To avoid any disappointment, I would aim to arrive earlier from the EPCOT Monorail (well before closing time) and take the opportunity to make your way past the Canada and United Kingdom Pavilions as the fireworks burst overhead. You'll have just about 17 minutes before it finishes and hordes of fellow guests descend upon International Gateway to board the Disney Skyliner in an often lengthy line (that sometimes reaches Disney's Beach Club Resort) resulting in some fairly full gondolas to offset that sudden demand.
I hope this helps, Sararose - be sure to check out our planDisney feature on Transportation on the Disney Parks Blog as well as its own episode of the planDisney Podcast

Wishing you all the best on your nighttime journey!
