Hello! I’m staying at Pop Century in late January 2025 and would like to know if the Skyliner will be working during my trip? If it will under refurbishment, I would like to know now so I can upgrade, as the Skyliner is the reason for stay at Pop Century.

Hey there, Avery, and welcome to planDisney!

As much as I love the relaxing Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and the iconic Disney’s Contemporary Resort, there is something about those Disney Resorts Collection hotels that are on the Disney Skyliner route. The ease of taking The Most Magical Flight on Earth to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios definitely adds a bit of pixie dust to a vacation.

As you’ve noticed, the Disney Skyliner usually has an annual maintenance. That down time has historically been during a week-or-so-long period in January. In the past, the announcement for the temporary closure is announced in October, so we should hear something very soon if the maintenance is in January of next year. I recommend that you bookmark the Disney Skyliner webpage and the Disney Parks Blog to find out the news as soon as it drops.

If you’re curious, the past years’ closure dates do fall around the time of your current arrival date: January 23-28, 2022; January 22-29, 2023; January 16-27, 2024. But Hakuna Matata! If you want to change your hotel stay before your vacation begins, you can modify your hotel choice in your MyDisney account on the Walt Disney World website or call a friendly Cast Member

AN EXTRA GEM: The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is usually around late January until February, so I’d definitely put this on your must-do list for your upcoming trip. I love watching artists craft art pieces—and being able to take a part of that home with me. And the food? There are so many fun, creative, and yummy options for most taste palettes.

Thanks again for stopping by, Avery. If you have any additional Disney vacation planning questions, reach out to us here at planDisney. I’d love to share some tips and tricks with you!

    Magic always,
