I'm going to be staying at the Poly this December with my husband was thinking about doing the spirit of aloha dinner, but heard it was kinda lame for adults with no kids, I kinda wanted another opinion? Any thoughts?

    Hi Renee,

There are adult guests who enjoy the Spirit of Aloha Luau, particularly those who are fans of Polynesian-style dancing. And the Luau is certainly convenient to your location at the Polynesian resort.

But I do have to say that there are other Disney experiences that I prefer. I am obviously a huge fan of Walt Disney World. I'm happy to experience almost anything Disney many, many times. I've been to the Luau twice and don't plan to go back again.

In my opinion, there are better ways to have a great time during your vacation. If you're looking for yummy South Seas food, then the 'Ohana dinner at the Polynesian is superior to the fare at the Luau. If you're looking for an entertainment factor, then the Hoop Dee Doo Revue at Fort Wilderness is more likely to hit the spot. The Yeehaa Bob show at Port Orleans gets higher marks for fun as well, and that experience will only cost you the price of a few drinks. And if you like other styles of dance, both the Irish step dancing at Downtown Disney's Raglan Road and the belly dancers at the Morocco pavilion at Epcot are a blast.

You could also have a truly extraordinary meal at Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian for not too much more money than you'd spend at the Luau. Or you could indulge in a couples massage or other spa experience for about the same price.

I'm not totally opposed to the Luau, I just think that there are many better ways to be entertained at Walt Disney World.
