I'm staying off the resort but have magic bands from when I've stayed at the resorts before. Can I use these bands for tickets and if so, how do I purchase those tickets and link them?

Hi, Mabel! You can reuse your MagicBands from your previous visit to Walt Disney World Resort. However, this is going to depend on how long it has been since that trip. The battery in the MagicBand is known to last around two years. If it has been longer than this, I worry that you could get here to use it as your main way of entering the theme parks and it not work. I suggest you bring them, but also have on hand your theme park tickets or a printout of the confirmation email from your ticket purchase.

So, let's discuss how to purchase those tickets and link them! Sign in to your My Disney Experience account and head on over to the main Ticketing page. As you complete your purchase, the system will have you assign each ticket to a guest in your Family & Friends List. Everyone in your party should already be found in that List since you have previously linked MagicBands to them. If you have any new members of your party, there will be a place in there to easily add a guest. However, this means they will not have a MagicBand, but they can pick one up during the trip. There are lots of merchandise locations that carry them at the theme parks, Resort hotels, and Disney Springs.

Now wasn't that easy? That really is all you have to do! The MagicBands are simply a link to your My Disney Experience account, where links to all of your magical plans and MagicBands are stored. As long as those theme park tickets are linked to the same guest profiles to which the MagicBands are linked, then you can simply touch it to the Mickey touchpoints and enter the theme parks. Please let us know if you have any other questions about this as you continue with your pixie-dusted plans!
