Welcome to planDisney, Hailey! Your trip is right around the corner...it will be here before you know it!
You're going to feel as if you're stepping into a fairytale when you arrive at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! This flagship resort welcomes guests with its Victorian elegance, but somehow it never feels too stuffy for kids. My piano-playing son loves to hang out in the lobby and listen to the
pianist in the evenings. We like to sit on one of the couches outside the
Enchanted Rose Lounge. This area is more casual for our kids, and my husband and I can sip an after-dinner cocktail while listening to the piano music; I recommend trying the Island Rose!
Complimentary cribs are available for Guests at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels. I made a quick call to the resort's Guest Services today, and she said that they do their best to fulfill requests, but it's not guaranteed, as your travel agent mentioned. When you check-in at your resort, speak to the front desk, or you can call from your room phone to ask for housekeeping to bring the crib up to your room (unfortunately, cribs cannot be set up in the room before you arrive at the resort). The Cast Member mentioned that getting a crib is not typically an issue, but if you want any additional information before making your decision, you can call 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639), and a Guest Services agent can advise you.
Here's one more planDisney tip for you, Hailey...make sure to visit the Baby Care Centers located at all four theme parks. These places were a welcome retreat when my Mouseketeers were toddlers. My friend, Anne Marie, was recently in Magic Kingdom Park, and she filmed a video featuring this refurbed "Alice in Wonderland"-themed location, so I invite you to check it out on the
Disney Parks Blog.
