Hi Pamela! Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How exciting that your daughter will have the opportunity to compete at
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex right in the middle of the magic of Walt Disney World Resort!
If you will have a vehicle, my recommendation would be to drive. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is about a 15-minute drive from the parking area at the main entrance to
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. You would then be able to drive to your dinner at
Disney Springs and then back to your resort. There is plenty of
complimentary standard self-parking at both ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Disney Springs.
I was able to do a little internet research and came across the information published for parents and spectators by the organizers of the Presidential Classic gymnastics competition. Among their FAQs, information about transportation is given. Complimentary Disney bus transportation to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is available from Disney’s All-Star Sports, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach Resorts. No bus service is provided from other resort hotels.
If you will not have a vehicle, your best bet would be door-to-door transportation with
Disney's Minnie Van service. These adorable polka-dotted vehicles are driven by professional and knowledgeable Disney Cast Members. Minnie Vans can be requested and paid for using the Lyft app. You could also travel by taxi or another rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft.
I would check with the organizers of the gymnastics competition to find out if there is any transportation provided from ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to Disney Springs. If not, I would call for another Minnie Van or rideshare to get to your dinner. You could then take a bus back to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort from Disney Springs.
I hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions as you prepare for your visit. We wish your daughter good luck as she competes this weekend.
