Hi there, Gayle! I'm glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
A pre-park opening breakfast or PPO (Disney fans love their acronyms, don't they?) is a smart touring strategy for beating the rope drop dash. Also, you'll have some fantastic opportunities for photos with
Spaceship Earth in a nearly empty Park! However, getting to your reservation in time can sometimes present a challenge. The Walt Disney World
Monorail System officially operates starting 30 minutes before the earliest park opening, and the
bus service from Walt Disney World Resort hotels begins 45 minutes prior. In my experience, theme park transportation starts even earlier than what is shown on the website; I called Guest Services today and was told that the Monorail and buses should start running by 7:30 AM during your trip. I would confirm these times when you check-in at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, as schedules frequently change. If you feel anxious about getting to
Epcot in time, you can always grab an Uber, Lyft, or
Minnie Van around 7:00 AM. Once you arrive at the Park and go through security, there will be a separate line for pre-park opening breakfast reservations, usually on the far left side.
Garden Grill Restaurant has always been one of my favorite breakfasts on property. Where else can you enjoy scenes from the Living with the Land exhibit (where the buffalo roam) and see Mickey in his farmer overalls? Breakfast is served family-style and is brought out in cast iron skillets, so you don't worry about leaving the table and missing your favorite characters. And, Chip's Sticky Bun Bake is legendary! If you have your heart set on riding
Soarin' Around the World before Epcot opens, let your server know when you sit down so they can ensure you're done in time.
I hope you have a magical vacation, Gayle! See ya' real soon!
