I'm someone who is planning her first family trip to Walt Disney World. We are planning to arrive earlier than check-in time which I read was 3 pm. Are we able to check our baggage in at our resort after landing or do we wait until our room is ready?

    Welcome to planDisney, Hikma!

I'm thrilled you're planning your family's first Walt Disney World Resort trip! You're going to make incredible memories that will last a lifetime together. I hope you take a moment to soak in all the magic while you're there. Listen to the cheerful music playing in the background as you step onto Main Street, U.S.A. inside Magic Kingdom Park, look at the bright balloons bobbing up and down in the sky, and smell the sweet scents coming from Main Street Confectionery. -And then, of course, walk in to treat yourself to a Mickey-shaped snack for all the excellent planning you did!

You're going to LOVE staying at a Disney Resort hotel. The friendly Cast Members are simply fantastic, and the storytelling at each Resort hotel is legendary. Between transportation provided to and from the theme parks and Early Theme Park Entry, it feels like the perfect choice!

Hikma, I'm happy to tell you that when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, you can drop off your luggage at Bell Services, and they will hold your items until you're in your room! You can also have Bell Services store your luggage on the day you check out. That way, you can play at the theme parks, shop and dine at Disney Springs, or splash around at the pool without worrying about your luggage!

If you're like me and love visiting the pools at Walt Disney World Resort during the day you check in or check out, you may wonder what to do about showers. Most of the larger Disney Resort hotel pools offer a private indoor shower for Guests who have checked out of their rooms, or their rooms may need more time to be ready on arrival day. These come stocked with towels, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. I recommend scouting one beforehand if you'd like to do the same!

As a first-time visitor, I hope you've downloaded your My Disney Experience Mobile App, as it will be a helpful tool during your vacation. For instance, you can place Mobile Food & Beverage Orders, make and modify dining reservations, and join Virtual Queues for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise!

Wishing you and your family an enchanting vacation, Hikma!
