I'm a single mom and will be traveling with my 4 year old in May - this will be his 1st trip to Disney for his birthday. I've been several times but never by myself with a toddler. Do you have any suggestions for places & things to do?

Hi Jennifer! Congratulations on your son's first trip to Walt Disney World! How exciting! Your little guy will have an amazing time at the most magical place on earth!

I brought both my son and my daughter on their birthdays when they turned 4 and we had a blast!

I have a couple of suggestions:
    1. Make a reservation at The Pirates League in the Magic Kingdom for your son to receive a pirate makeover. He will have his choice of five facial effects and will receive an eye patch, sword and lots of other goodies to make him feel like the real Jack Sparrow.
    2. Dine with the characters at one of the many character meals. My favorites include Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom (He can meet Winnie the Pooh and friends) and Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary (Mickey Mouse and friends.) Make a note on the reservation that it is your son's birthday and they will bring out a cupcake, complete with a candy for him to make a wish!
    3. Upon arrival, tell a cast member that it is his birthday and he will receive a special birthday button. He will feel special as cast members greet him with "Happy Birthday" throughout the day.
Check out the guide for visiting Walt Disney World for Little Ones for more tips.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! I'd love to help you plan a magical trip for you and your little guy! Tell him "Happy Birthday" from the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!
