Hi Maureen,
As someone who suffers from asthma, I completely understand your concern about the campfire smoke at the
Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. As part of the camping experience here, guests are allowed to bring their self-contained rings for a fire at their campsite. Disney does not provide these to guests but does not prevent guests from using them. As a result, there is no guarantee that the people camping near you will bring one or not.
I asked several of my friends who have stayed at these sites and they report that you don't see very many people bringing their fire pit but you will see smoke from people grilling. There are raised charcoal grills at each of the sites for guests to use which may be an issue for you. The resort also conducts
campfire activities and Movies Under the Stars that are so much fun!
When staying at the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, I highly recommend
renting a golf cart for use on the grounds. There is so much to see at this resort and golf carts help you get around easily. There is also a fun culture around decorating golf carts at this resort and during certain seasons, there are even golf cart parades.
If you have additional concerns about a reservation at this resort, please
contact them directly and ask if they have any options available for you or could guarantee you a campsite that is further away from the hustle and bustle of the camp center.
Happy Camping,
Jenna
