Hello Amy!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I have to tell you, this is an excellent question because you truly have me stumped. I would assume that there would be some music, but I cannot seem to find confirmation that this is the case. Since Catholic Mass is only offered at the
Walt Disney World Resort for Christmas and Easter, the details of the event are limited. For 2019, Christmas Eve Catholic Mass will be offered at 9 PM, and on Christmas Day at 10:30 AM. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, and Mass at
Disney’s Contemporary Resort would be the most convenient, I would ask at the front desk of your resort if they can find out for you. Once we are closer to the event itself, the Front Desk at Disney’s Contemporary Resort may know the answer.
If music is a must, and you don’t mind venturing off property, there are a few good options nearby. My fellow Panelist Anne Marie recommends Mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, Florida. This is just a short drive from the Walt Disney World Resort and you could even take a taxi or Uber if needed. Anne Marie has attended services at Corpus Christi and she felt the music was wonderful. Corpus Christi is offering Christmas Eve masses at 3 PM, 4:30 PM with a children’s choir, 6 PM, 7:30 PM and Midnight Mass. On Christmas Day, Mass will be held at 8:30 AM, 10:30 AM, and 12:15 PM.
Also nearby, and sure to have music is the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe. This church specifically ministers to the many tourists in the Orlando area and in addition to daily Mass and Confession, has a beautiful prayer garden and a collection of beautiful sacred art. Christmas Eve Mass with a choir and orchestra will begin with a prelude at 5:30 PM and Mass at 6 PM, as well as Midnight Mass with a prelude at 11:30 PM. Christmas Day Mass will be said at 7:30 AM and 6 PM without a choir, and at 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM with the choir.
I hope one of these options will work for you and your brother! Wishing you a very blessed Advent and Christmas Season.
