I'm sailing on the Disney Dream from Jan 26-31, 2024 with my husband and our two kids (3 &5). When making requests for dining, is there an option that is better for younger kids (i.e. near the stage)?

    Hello Ashley,

Thanks for sailing by planDisney. I'm so glad you decided to be our guest today. I invite you to relax and pull up a chair while I proudly present all the Disney Cruise Line dining details.

My family has sailed on Disney Dream twice before and absolutely loved our experience both times. There are so many great dining options available from the three rotational dining restaurants to complimentary room service and even adult-only venues. There isn't a stage at Enchanted Garden or Royal Palace so you don't have to worry about requesting a particular location. Your team of servers will bring the magic and the fun right to your table regardless of where it's located.

The experience is a bit different at Animator's Palate, but I promise you'll be able to enjoy all the fun no matter where you're seated.  I won't spoil the surprise but you'll notice viewing screens located all around the restaurant which are sure to bring a lot of smiles to your dinner experience. You can request to be seated near a screen but you should have a pretty good view from anywhere in the venue.

Up until our most recent sailing on Disney Wish this April, we've always opted for Main Seating. My kids were usually ravenous after a day of fun and sun and sea, so the Main Seating around 5:45 p.m. kept them happy and allowed our family time to digest while enjoying the nightly evening entertainment (speaking of which, be sure not to miss Beauty and the Beast). Now that they are older we've switched to Second Seating around 8:00 p.m., which gives us a little more time to get ready for dinner and savor our meal without worrying about getting a prime viewing location in the theatre each night. If your kids prefer eating dinner at a certain time I'd recommend requesting the seating time closest to what they are used to at home.

You can make changes to your assigned dinner seating, if available, by visiting "My Reservations." If your preferred time is not available you can join the Waitlist or visit the Guest Services Desk once on board. Requests are not guaranteed, but I've always found Disney Cruise Line Crew Members to sprinkle a little pixie dust whenever they can.

While you're enjoying your sailing make time to experience Midship Detective Agency with your kids. My crew loved racing around the decks to solve the mystery and really enjoyed the interactive elements all around the ship.

Ashley, I hope this was helpful. If we can answer any additional questions please sail right on back and let us know.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
