Hi there, Seyoung! Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question about your
Bahamian cruise on the
Disney Dream. It sounds like you have such a magical itinerary ahead with stops at both
Disney Castaway Cay and
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. That’s two slices of paradise in one trip!
Flying in the night before is a smart choice, especially when traveling internationally. The
Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina is a convenient option, since it’s right on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, and you’ll be just about half a mile from the port. Since this hotel is supported by Disney Cruise Line, you’ll be able to book
ground transfers directly through Disney or through your travel agent if that’s how you booked your cruise. At the moment, transfers can’t be booked via email because payment information must be handled over a secure connection, but
you can try calling Disney Cruise Line or, in some cases, use the live chat feature on their website to make arrangements. Just keep in mind that Eastern Time (ET), where Disney is based, is 13 hours behind Korean Standard Time (KST).
Transfers can be booked up to three days before you sail, but I recommend doing it earlier so it’s one less thing to think about before your holiday. The current price from the Hilton to the port is $21 USD per person, and from the port to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is $29 USD per person (however, prices are always subject to change).
Once your transfers are booked, you can focus on the fun part, which is planning your time on those gorgeous islands. On Castaway Cay, I love going down the waterslides at Pelican Plunge, snorkeling the lagoon trail to spot sunken treasures, and running the Castaway Cay 5K in the morning. At Lighthouse Point, Disney’s newest tropical destination, I’ve enjoyed the Bahamian culture at the Goombay Cultural Center and relaxing on the soft, pink-tinted beaches.
I hope your cruise is as dreamy as it sounds, Seyoung. If you have any other questions as you plan, we’re all ears!
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
