Hey there, Kayla! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Are you ready to lace up those sneakers and join the 20,000 other princesses running through Cinderella Castle in a few weeks? The excitement is just beginning!
First of all, I must commend your Prince Charming on his noble task of escorting you to the start line at 3:30 AM! Mine told me that he's not charming enough until at least 7:00 AM, so he'll be chEARing me on from his warm bed back at our Walt Disney World Resort hotel. I spoke to a runDisney Cast Member today, and she said it is A-OK for your husband to wait with you in the Epcot Parking Lot prior to the start and enjoy the pre-race activities with you. Around 4:30 AM, you'll have to say your goodbyes as you head to your corral, which can be about a 15-minute walk; it's a good way to loosen up those legs! I would then recommend that he take the
monorail from
Epcot to the Transportation & Ticket Center, which is at mile 3.8. Immediately after that, he will need to follow the overhead signs and take the monorail to
Magic Kingdom Park (mile 5.1) to see you running down Main Street, U.S.A. Spectators do not need a theme park ticket for admittance before 8:00 AM. In the next few days, the runDisney website will publish a link to the Digital Event Guide on the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend page, and this will have lots of pertinent race information, including Spectator Viewpoint Locations and corral assignments. The Event Guide will also have instructions on how to sign up for Runner Tracking, so your hubby will know when you're on your way, and he can hold his sign up and ring that cowbell!
So, Kayla, get ready, get set, and GO have a blast on your race-cation! See ya' real soon!
