Hi Mickala!
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm familiar with the weather during
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and I know it can be tough to decide what to wear with a potential swing in temperate from race start to finish!
First, I'd check the weather up until the day you leave. I made the mistake once of packing too early and with the unpredictable Florida weather, it ended up being about 25 degrees colder than I'd initially packed for! Once you have an idea of weather I'd plan on racing in something you'll be comfortable in after you warm up. I have brought an old blanket or sweatshirt from home and worn that on my way to the race. A couple minutes into the race, I'll usually shed the extra layer and toss it on the side of the road. The folks at runDisney collect these items afterwards and donate them to a local shelter! Just make sure to toss your sweatshirt or blanket completely off the course for the safety of your fellow runners.
During the event, runDisney also offers
gEAR Bag Check for your items. When you pick up your bib from the
runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, you'll be provided a clear bag and a numbered sticker to attach to it. This is the only bag they are able to accept race morning so make sure to use the one they issue! After the race, your bib is used to verify your gEAR Bag Check number. While I've never experienced anything going missing, runDisney does request that you please do not check any valuable items.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be sending pixie dust your way for a magical race!
