Hello, Julie! It's great to see you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel again! The
Disney Princess Half Marathon is my favorite race in the "World!" Corral assignments and bib numbers should be released very soon...I can't wait!
There's no doubt that hydration is the key to a successful race. Last year, the weather during the half marathon was unseasonably warm, so it was vital for me to make even more water stops than usual to ensure I crossed that finish line in tip-top shape and to be able to give Princess Minnie a big high five! According to the 2019 Digital Event Guide, there were a total of nine water and POWERADE stops, and the stations were placed approximately every 1.5 miles along the course. There was one food stop with Sport Beans ® Energizing Jelly Beans located at Mile 7.9 (which you'll see soon after you pass by Disney's Polynesian Village Resort). After crossing the finish line, racers are handed a box containing a banana, chips, and cookies. More than likely, things will be the same this year, but stay tuned to the runDisney website, as they should be releasing a link to the 2020 Digital Event guide shortly.
Here's a Moms Panel tip: Order
Memory Maker before your trip. The
Disney PhotoPass Photographers will be on the course and at the finish line taking your photos during the race. So when you see the photographers crouched down in their iconic green tents, smile and make sure your bib is in view on the front of your shirt! Race photos will be available to view at MyDisneyPhotoPass.com and on the My Disney Experience app within 48 hours of the event. I'm always excited to update my social media profile with my finish line picture every year!
Get ready to lace up those sneakers, Julie, and if you see me out there on the course, make sure to say hello!
