I'm a runner and hopefully staying at the Wilderness Lodge on my next trip. Any suggestions for safe running in and around the resort? Can I run to/through Fort Wilderness?

    Howdy Megan!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  It sounds like you are really excited to get back to the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort.  I am anxiously waiting for a perfect time for my family to visit as well.   I hope you have a lovely visit at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Keeping up with my workouts on vacation is important, especially if I am training for a runDisney event.   I love running through the beautiful Disney Resort hotels early in the morning before the hustle and bustle of Guests waking up begins.  I am happy to let you know that Disney's Wilderness Lodge does have a jogging trail available for you to use.  The trail begins directly behind Disney's Wilderness Lodge near the boat rental area.   Maps of the trail are available at the Concierge desk at the Resort.  This particular jogging trail is 2.5 miles long and takes you between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.  Once inside the campground you can also find other smaller trails to branch out into if you need to log more miles.  The best thing about this trail is the scenery and opportunity to encounter some beautiful wildlife.  On my last visit, my daughter and I saw a family of deer just off the path and it was so exciting.   Just like Hercules said, "every mile will be worth your while" on this amazing wooded path.

Megan, please visit us again anytime you have another question.  Lending a helping hand to a fellow Guest is what the Disney Parks Moms Panelists enjoy most.
