Welcome aboard, Gianni! While I typically travel with my whole family, I have taken two different cruises where it's been either just my daughter and me or just my son and me. So, I know all about cruising as a solo adult with my child. These have been pretty magical adventures because we've gotten away from the world back home and had time to really spend together enjoying all that Disney offers!
Add a note to your reservation letting Disney know you'll be celebrating your daughter's birthday onboard. Your dining servers will present a special dessert and sing happy birthday to her one night. Alternately, check out the
Gifts and Amenities available to pre-purchase, including specialty birthday cakes, stateroom decorations and more. I highly recommend the birthday stateroom decorations. My friends surprised me with this on one of my birthday sailings and my whole family loved opening the door that first day to be greeted with floor to ceiling decor! Your daughter will love this welcome surprise!
She'll have the time of her life in the
Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab. Typically, you'll drop her off for fun with the counselors here - no parents allowed! But, there are Open House hours when parents get to stay and participate with their kids in the activities. If they're making Stitch's Space Goo (Flubber!) or any other crafty activity during the Open House hours, that's a great opportunity to make memories with your little one!
Book a
Port Adventure or two together as well in the ports of call. My kids and I have the most magical memories of exploring the port on an adventure, just one of them and mom. We cherish these memories.
Have such fun planning, Gianni!
