I'm a recently single mother, before our separation we had plan to take our infant to Disney in April. What are your opinions and advice on me traveling alone to Disney with my 9 month old daughter. This was the plan to take her and I want to keep the plan

    Hi Caletta,

I love your idea to travel with your daughter to the Walt Disney World Resorts. I have travelled with my 9 month old nephew and your trip is doable.

I recommend only purchasing a base Magic Your Way ticket and visit only one park a day. This reduces your time traveling and you can just focus on the magic each park brings. Also, you want to have a backpack for all her gear to keep your hands free. You may also want a light weight baby harness to hold her on the bus when you are traveling to and from your resort to the parks.

As for the stroller, lighter is better. The strollers that Disney rents are hard plastic and are not suitable for infants. They also need to be collapsed when you are riding on the bus.

You may also want to consider a staying at a deluxe resort. Because deluxe resorts are located next to a park, they do not require a bus to travel to at least two parks. For example, the Contemporary is on the monorail and you can travel to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot on the monorail. Your daughter would be able to stay in her stroller while you travel between the parks and your resorts. The same would be true at the Boardwalk where you can travel via boat or foot to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

You can also order groceries from an online grocer such as the Garden Grocer to have food, diapers and other items delivered to your resort.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
