Welcome to planDisney, Susan! I hear you are planning a trip to "The
Merriest Place on Earth" this Christmas season. We are happy to help!
I love to don my red and green spirit jersey in November and watch
Decorating Disney Holiday Magic on Disney+. It's incredible to see how the Disney Parks and Resorts transform into winter wonderlands for the holiday season! Shortly after the Halloween decorations come down, you'll see the touches of magic, beginning with the snow-capped turrets on Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle.
Historically, the
holiday decor is complete by the second weekend of November at Disneyland Resort, so your trip dates should be fine; however, there is no set date announced yet (last year, it was on November 12). Stay tuned to the
Disneyland website and the Disney Parks Blog as we get closer. All you need is faith, trust, pixie dust... and Christmas spirit!
A couple of unique Christmas attraction overlays at
Disneyland Park are fan favorites, including
Haunted Mansion Holiday, which retells the story of Jack Skellington as "Sandy Claws," and
"it's a small world" Holiday, with its thousands of twinkling lights. These should be must-do's on your list! A Christmas Fantasy Parade, the Believe…In Holiday Magic Fireworks, and more will hopefully return for Christmas 2022.
If you can, try to incorporate a visit to
Disney California Adventure Park, which celebrates the season with a cultural nod to Christmas (and other winter holidays) at
Disney's Festival of Holidays. The Festival includes live music and dance performances, a holiday version of the World of Color nighttime spectacular, and a Festive Foods Marketplace featuring the flavors of the holidays.
I recommend getting your
theme park tickets and park reservations soon, as the holiday season is a popular time to travel. If you need any more tips or advice, Susan, please feel free to visit us anytime. See ya real soon!
