Hi, I'm really confused about the age groups for the kids to dress up like a princess? My daughter will be 10 March 2015. I have a princess dress already but in evening I let her wear the dress coming in magic kingdom ect. for parades.

    Hi Donna,

There is no specific age cut-off for children wearing costumes in the parks. While costumes are never required, you will find that many kids, particularly girls, do dress up in costume for some of their time at Walt Disney World.

There is a restriction that adults can not wear a full Disney costume in the theme parks. This primarily to prevent them from being confused with the "real" Disney characters.

While the final call is always left up to the cast members in the parks, I have never heard of a situation where a 10 year old would have a problem being in costume. You do occasionally hear of issues with young teens in costume. There is no hard and fast rule on age because kids develop differently. For example, some 12 or 13 year olds look like little kids and some look like grow-ups.

For planning purposes, you can assume that your 10 year old daughter will be absolutely fine wearing a princess dress at Disney World.
