Hi, I’m planning to come to both parks on May 24th but am reading that the crowds might be especially bad because it’s the last week for SoCal residents to use their passes and because fantasmic is startling again. Should I avoid that date?

Hi Kelly! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

The return of Fantasmic! in Frontierland at Disneyland Park is incredibly exciting and has been much awaited by many Guests, who have missed the iconic nighttime show. I'd expect the show to be very popular this summer and booking Fantasmic! Dining Packages will be one of the more popular dining reservations to snag at the beginning of the booking period. That area of the park might be a little more popular as showtime approaches, barring any change in schedule, than it was when the show was temporarily closed. I wouldn't let that keep me from watching, however, if it was on my must-do list!

You are also correct that the conclusion of the use period for the SoCal Ticket Offer is approaching. However, you'll find that with the theme park reservation system, park attendance is carefully managed, which should improve your experience as a Guest. Guest attendance at this time is limited through a variety of factors, including theme park reservation availability, Magic Key blockout dates, and capacity.

I checked the theme park reservation availability calendar, and currently, reservations are available for both parks on your preferred park day. That could change. Popular days can fill up, but it hasn't happened for either park yet. Whatever predictions you heard must not have been made with Madame Leota's crystal ball. She has taken it with her while the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park temporarily undergoes refurbishment, so that's understandable.

I hope that's good news! Come enjoy the parks. There's a lot to explore, including both Season of the Force and Pixar Fest. I'd be getting in as many rides on Hyperspace Mountain in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park as I possibly could. It's my favorite overlay of all time.

May the Force be with you.
