I'm planning a visit in October with my boy 4 years and girl 6 years. What rides/entertainment you suggest that will appeal to both? Any other advice as to visiting in October? Thanks!! Appreciate all the advice we are visiting from Panama

    Hi Dany,

Welcome to the Disney Moms Panel! Trips to the Walt Disney World Resorts in October are my favorite! I love the weather, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival.

My daughters are two years apart as well. While they did not want to be princesses, they did want to ride rollercoasters and experience the same attractions. If the trip is not a surprise, I would have your children look online at the Walt Disney World website and pick three things at each park they want to do. This keeps them happy and makes the rest of the trip seem like a bonus.

The key to your trip will be the order of parks. I recommend touring in this order - Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and then Magic Kingdom or Disney's Animal Kingdom. Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios have their own charm which may be lost if you tour Magic Kingdom first. Epcot is divide into two sections - Future World and World Showcase. Each has a learning component with an element of fun. My daughters loved this park from the beginning and they had their first visit to Walt Disney World at two and four.

You will need two days in Magic Kingdom, two days in Epcot and then a day each at the other parks. Here are so highlights at each:

Epcot-Soarin', Test Track, Living Seas, all the countries
Hollywood Studios-Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Toy Story Midway Mania, Star Tours, Jedi Training
Animal Kingdom-Kilimanjaro Safari, Festival of the Lion King, the Boneyard
Magic Kingdom-Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Finally, save some money and skip the Park Hopper option. Spend the day in only one park so you can find the hidden magic. It also allows for you to have time to go back to your resort or tour Disney Springs.

    Wishing you a magical day!
