I'm planning a vacation for my family -- me, my wife, and my three adult kids -- for early May of 2024. When can I put money down to book this vacation? Thanks!

Welcome to planDisney, Eric! You're among fellow planners here, so I'm glad you found us. I tell my husband that the world is out of balance unless I have a trip to Walt Disney World Resort on the books, so I completely understand your desire to get the party started!

I just spoke with a friendly Cast Member to check the status of booking a vacation package for 2024, and he said package bookings for 2024 should become available in July of 2023. I'd suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest announcements.

But if you're like me, you'll be itching to get your plans rolling as soon as possible, so I do have another suggestion. Beginning in May of 2023, you should be able to book a room-only package online or by calling Resort Reservations. Choose your favorite Disney Resorts Collection hotel and pick your dates. You'll have that piece of the planning puzzle in place for the price of one night's deposit.

Then, when vacation packages become available this summer, give guest services a call back to switch your room-only reservation to a vacation package that can include theme park tickets, a Memory Maker photo package, and more. Although subject to change, the typical cost to make this package booking is $200, and then you can make payments at your own pace until it is paid in full 30 days before check-in.

As a mom of a grown son, I'm a big fan of adult-only visits. We enjoy the slower pace and more spontaneous nature of those trips. I just know your family is going to have a blast! Have you thought of booking a family suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort? The suites are colorful and fun and sleep six adults. I love that they have two full bathrooms and a kitchenette. And this resort is on the Disney Skyliner route which makes it a breeze to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Eric, I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney! Please reach out with any questions that come up as you plan for your amazing family adventure!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
