Hi! I’m planning a trip in a few weeks! We will have park hoppers with genie + and are rope dropping to maximize our time in the parks! Can I stack / keep my LL reservations even after I hop parks & am I able to reserve DCA LL’s before I hop over?

Oh boy, Barbara! Your next visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is just two weeks away. You must be so excited! And with rope dropping, a Park Hopper ticket, and Genie+, you're ready to maximize the magic. So let's get to answering your question!

Barbara, with Genie+, you can select one Lighting Lane arrival window at a time throughout your day at the parks. You can make your first selection via the Disneyland Mobile App once your admission ticket has been scanned for entrance into a theme park. So if you start the morning in Disneyland Park, as soon as you enter the theme park, you can make your first Lighting Lane selection. You're eligible to make another selection after your currently selected arrival window has ended or been redeemed. You’re also eligible to make another Lighting Lane selection if you’re currently holding on to a selection that has an arrival window that’s more than two hours from the time the selection was made.

Since the Park Hopper option allows you to jump between the two Disneyland Resort theme parks beginning at 11:00 AM, you can make Lighting Lane return times for Disney California Adventure Park even while in Disneyland Park - but the Lighting Lane return time must be after 11:00 AM since that is the earliest you can hop over. If you have a Lighting Lane return time - say for Space Mountain beginning at 3:00 PM - but want to hop over to California Adventure, your Lighting Lane reservation will stay in your app until the arrival window has expired. If you want to make another Lighting Lane selection, you'll need to wait until you redeem the one for Space Mountain or if two hours have passed since you first booked the Space Mountain return time. The new selection can be in either theme park. Did you also know that you can now modify or cancel a Lightning Lane selection in the app? So, if your plans change because Big Thunder Mountain has the shortest line ever, you cancel that return time and make a new selection!

Barbara, even though you can only use a Lighting Lane once per attraction per day, you can still use the standby queue if you want to experience a certain ride again. I did this recently when my planDisney pals Jenna and Susan wanted to ride Pirates of the Caribbean more than once that day!

Don't forget that the Genie+ service gives you unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads from the day, making it the perfect way to bring memories home. I love to find Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout the day to ensure we get great pictures of the entire group!

Thanks for visiting planDisney with another great question, Barbara! I hope this information helps. Please visit us again soon!

    See you in the parks,
    Melissa
