HI. I’m planning a trip to Disneyland next year with my family, including my elderly parents (one who is confined to a wheelchair, one who needs a power scooter). Are they eligible for any special accommodations in the parks due to their mobility issues?

    Hiya Rick,

Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you for submitting your question to us.

As a fellow planner, I am happy to see you plan a visit to Disneyland Resort! Planning the trip is one of my favorite parts. Don’t worry, there are services available for Guests who require mobility assistance (such as parking and restrooms), so your parents can enjoy the parks as much as you will!

The Disneyland Resort offers accommodations for guests with disabilities through a service called Disability Access Services (DAS). DAS is available for guests who cannot stand in standard queues for extended periods. Guests can register for DAS services before their visit by scheduling a Live Chat with a Cast Member who will review DAS services and determine if the guest is eligible. Then the friendly Cast Members will answer any questions and aid in appropriate accommodations before the visit.

If your parents require assistance getting around the parks, they can rent an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). The Disneyland Resort has ECVs and wheelchairs available to rent on the east side of the main entrance. ECVs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. I recommend arriving early and going to the ECV rental to secure the ECVs before entering the parks. Guests can also bring and use their own ECVs and/or wheelchairs.

If you have other questions about the Disneyland Resort, remember - you’ve got a friend in me!
