Hi there, Desiree! Mickey and his pals will be ready to wish your little Mouseketeer a happy 5th birthday next yEAR!
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway is an upcoming dark ride attraction scheduled to open in 2020 in the space formerly occupied by The Great Movie Ride in
Disney's Hollywood Studios. The ride features new technology known as "2 and 1⁄2 D" (3-D effects without requiring any glasses), and it promises Guests a zany adventure through the cartoon world with Mickey and Minnie getting ready for a picnic. Originally it was slated to open this fall, but with the earlier than expected opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, things are a bit behind schedule. I've heard rumblings of a February 2020 debut, but we'll all have to stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for an official announcement. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that you'll get the pixie-dusted news you're hoping to hEAR!
I do have some sweet news for you, however! Making a birthday celebration super special is a piece of cake at Walt Disney World Resort. The best way to do this is to call the Disney Cake Hotline at (407) 827-2253, and you can discuss options such as size, budget, and theme. They deliver to most Walt Disney World Resort Table Service Restaurants, but you'll need to give them at least 72 hours notice (I'd suggest calling a few weeks before if you want a custom creation, though).
Mickey Mouse Dome Celebration Cakes are another, simpler option, and come in chocolate or white chocolate.
Amorette's Patisserie in Disney Springs makes sophisticated and delicious cakes, but you may have to pick it up yourself. Call (407) 934-3500 for ordering information.
I hope your daughter has the most magical birthday ever next yEAR, Desiree!
