Im planning on taking my abuela and aunt to disneyland for their first time! We dont plan on getting on rides as theyre wheelchair bond but curious how to make their first time at Disneyland as magical as could be. it will also be my grandmas 80th bday.

Welcome, Adriana to planDisney! Oh boy! Can I be the first to wish your Abuela a warm ¡feliz cumpleaños! I visited Disneyland Resort for my 30th birthday, and there is something so magical about celebrating monumental moments such as birthdays at Disneyland! I just know your Abuela and Tia will have the most wonderful time! What I love about Disneyland Resort is that they truly cater to EVERY member of the family, from infant to senior citizen. The Imagineers have painstakingly taken the time to ensure there is something for everyone, and it is one of the many reasons why my family visits so often.

Adriana, the first thing to do is to stop by City Hall upon entering Disneyland Park, and pick up some "First Time Visit" and "Happy Birthday!" buttons for your Abuela! Display them prominently, they may catch the eye of a Cast Member who will want to sprinkle some extra pixie dust into your day! Make a breakfast reservation at Carnation Cafe to have a delicious Mickey-shaped waffle! Honestly, there is no better way to start your day with a Mickey waffle! Next, I was able to play around on the attractions sections of the Disneyland Resort page, and I keyed in "guest may remain in wheelchair/ECV". And Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo! A list of wheelchair-friendly activities popped up! If your family loves animals, and all things tropical, head on over to the Adventureland section of Disneyland Park to watch a show at Enchanted Tiki Room (don't forget to pick up a Pineapple DOLE WHIP at the Tiki Juice Bar after!) If your family enjoys singing along to some of the great songs sung in Disney movies, I suggest heading on over to one of my favorites, Mickey's PhilharMagic, also at Disney California Adventure. Finally, if you are interested in the history of Disneyland (another personal favorite!) I suggest stopping by and watching a viewing of The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. You will be able to experience a show that Walt Disney himself was alive to see and view some incredible historical artifacts of Disneyland after, viewing what The Happiest Place on Earth looked like when it first opened in 1955.

Adriana, have the most magical, pixie-dusted-filled time visiting Disneyland Resort with your family. As Walt Disney himself once said on the grand opening day "to all who come to this happy place, welcome. Disneyland is your land". Happy birthday again to Abuela!
