Hello there, Shannon!
Thanks for bringing us another fantastic question. I'm finalizing details for a resort rest day during my upcoming stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort. I'm honestly having a tough time narrowing down my to-do list, so I'm happy to share what I have penciled in so far.
My family always loves to incorporate a Character meal into every visit.
Chef Mickey's is our rest day dinner plan since my kids have yet to experience the magic there. Guests can dine with Mickey and friends at both breakfast and dinner so you'll have plenty of time options to choose from. I'm also considering a meal at the newly reopened
1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I've heard nothing but good things about the famous strawberry soup there, and I think it would be fun to dine alongside wish makers like Mirabel, Aladdin, Tiana, and Cinderella. We've also made reservations at
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at the nearby Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort for another day of our trip. I'm excited to indulge in some comfort food favorites while we enjoy this high-energy musical showcase.
Since you'll be staying on the monorail loop plan to enjoy shopping and snacktime at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, as well. There's nothing better than savoring a DOLE Whip from
Pineapple Lanai with your feet in the sand. You can also visit Trader Sam's Grog Grotto or the outdoor Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace to enjoy a cocktail while soaking up the tropical vibes. Take the monorail one more stop to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa where elegance awaits at
Enchanted Rose. We love sipping cocktails there with an order of House-made Truffle Fries (available after 5 p.m.) The Grand Floridian Spa is also a perfect place to indulge for a few hours or stock up on essentials like soaps, bath bombs and salts at Basin White.
Consider a round of miniature golf at
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf near Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, for more sun and fun away from your resort pool. You can also splash down at one of the
water parks for some extra thrills. Disney Springs is another great stop with plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options to fill a full day.
I'd also recommend looking into Enchanting Extras Collection experiences like
Guided Fishing Excursions. If you prefer more of the great indoors, the
Colors of Coronado Painting Experience, currently available on Fridays, and
Spanish Mosaic Art, currently scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays are also fun options. These activities are both available at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, which features several dining and lounge options to enjoy.
I hope this gives you some ideas to plan your perfect resort day itineraries. If I can offer any additional guidance please don't hesitate to come back and let me know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
