Hi there, I'm planning on purchasing a Single Pass for Radiator Springs at California Adventure. Once I purchase the Single Pass, will I be able to change the time (like on Multipass), or is the time locked in at the time of purchase? Thank you!

Hi Zoe! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with this question, because Radiator Springs Racers is one of those attractions that practically defines a visit to Disney California Adventure Park. From the moment you roll into Cars Land and see the Cadillac Range glowing in the distance, it’s clear why this race through Ornament Valley is such a popular pick for Lightning Lane Single Pass.

You’ll be happy to know that Lightning Lane Single Pass return times work very similarly to Lightning Lane Multi Pass when it comes to flexibility. After you purchase your Single Pass for Radiator Springs Racers, the return time is not permanently locked in. If your plans shift, you can open the Disneyland app, head to your plans, and check whether alternate return times are available. As long as there is availability, you can modify your time to better fit the flow of your day.

If you anticipate needing that flexibility, one helpful strategy is to book your initial return time earlier in the day. Earlier selections tend to offer more modification options later on, which can be especially useful if you’re juggling dining reservations, cavalcade viewing, or a spontaneous stop for a Cozy Cone treat. On the flip side, if you’re aiming to use your Single Pass at a moment when standby waits are at their longest, midday is often a sweet spot. That’s typically when Radiator Springs Racers posts its highest wait times, making your Lightning Lane return feel like a particularly big win.

Another approach my family loves is combining early arrival with Lightning Lane tools. The first hour or two after opening is a fantastic window to experience attractions via standby before crowds build. Later in the day, Lightning Lane Single Pass and Multi Pass can help you keep your momentum going with far less waiting. It’s a bit like having a well-tuned pit crew supporting your race day strategy.

Zoe, I hope this helps you plan your Radiator Springs Racers experience with confidence and flexibility. If more questions pop up as you fine-tune your plans, feel free to reach out to me or any of my fellow panelists here at planDisney. We’re always happy to help you map out a day filled with memorable moments and just the right amount of pixie dust.

Have an incredible visit filled with high-speed fun and unforgettable Disney magic!
