Hiya Courtney,
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question—and most importantly, Happy 21st Birthday! What an enchanting way to celebrate such a milestone—spending the day at
EPCOT, sipping around the world, and making magical memories! There’s just something extra special about celebrating at The Most Magical Place on Earth—especially when it’s your birthday.
Now let’s pop the cork and dive right into your question. I can only speak for the Walt Disney World (so I’ll leave any off-property destinations to their own guidelines), but here’s what you need to know: Guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase alcoholic beverages at EPCOT—or anywhere else on Disney property. And yes,
valid identification will be required for all alcohol purchases, no matter how old you feel after walking the World Showcase in the Florida sun!
Here are the forms of ID that are accepted at Walt Disney World Resort:
- A valid U.S. state driver’s license (horizontal or vertical—it doesn’t matter!)
- A valid U.S. state-issued ID card (including U.S. territories)
- A valid U.S. military ID
- An original passport
If you’re unsure or want to double-check for more options, Cast Members are always happy to help, or you can refer to the official
Walt Disney World website.
And don’t forget, stop by
Guest Relations or a ticket booth and pick up a complimentary birthday button! As you stroll through the park, you’ll be amazed at how many people (Cast Members and Guests alike) will offer you a warm “Happy Birthday!”. It’s like having your own personal fairy tale day… just with a bit of extra sparkle and perhaps a margarita in
Mexico.
Courtney, I hope this helped answer your question and that your birthday is filled with laughter, joy, and just the right amount of pixie dust. If you have any more questions as you plan, feel free to visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
