Howdy Francesca!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks so much for stopping in to ask a great question about your magical visit to the
Disneyland Resort. It's my pleasure to offer you some insight and guidance today.
I have visited both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort with kids who have had sports injuries to their ankles and were on crutches. I highly recommend you utilize the
wheelchair rental service available just outside of the theme parks, east of the
Disneyland Park main entrance. When we rented the wheelchair for our fellow traveler we were not able to leave our crutches with a Cast Member. In fact the Cast Member recommended we keep them and place them in the chair with us, as our friend would need them to transfer from the wheelchair into restaurants and restrooms. We found it very easy to sit in the chair and have the crutches on the chair next to the Guest with the bottom of the crutches resting on the footrest. Most attractions will allow you to take the wheelchair with you through the queue and transfer onto the attraction right at the boarding area. They will have the wheelchair waiting for you as you exit the attraction as well. Isn't that great?
I hope this has helped. I wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery, and a wonderful trip to The Happiest Place on Earth. Please visit us again anytime you have another question. It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Guest.
Dream as Dreamers Do,
Jen
