I'm planning on going to Galaxy's Edge in California. What do I need? Do I need to buy a pass for disneyland? What is a magic band? Can I reserve experiences like Falcon Run, Saviis, and reserve a place at oga's cantina - if so, how? TYSM!

Welcome and Bright Suns to you!

Thanks for bringing your question to us as you plan an off world adventure at Galaxy's Edge on Batuu! I would be happy to explain the details of how to get the most out of your trip to Black Spire Outpost.

The first thing to realize is that Galaxy's Edge is located inside Disneyland Park, so you will need a valid ticket and park reservation in order to visit. It is one of the most immersive places at the Disneyland Resort and the perfect place to live out your Star Wars story! Just make sure that your ticket includes admission to Disneyland Park (if you purchase a One Park Per Day Ticket) or that you have a Park Hopper and a reservation for the day.

If you want to plus up your experience at the Disneyland Resort, a MagicBand+ is the perfect accessory. Please note that these are known as Disney Bands internationally. A MagicBand+ is an accessory worn on your wrist which you may link to your Disneyland Resort ticket. This means that you can easily scan into the Parks, redeem Lightning Lanes, and link PhotoPass pictures simply by having your MagicBand+ scanned. You'll also receive haptic feedback based on your location in the Resort. With a MagicBand+ in Galaxy's Edge, you can play Batuu Bounty Hunters, a fun scavenger hunt type game where you try to locate bounties scattered across Black Spire Outpost. Ultimately, Bands are completely optional and you'll still have a fantastic time without one. Also, please note that only MagicBand+ is supported at the Disneyland Resort.

Once you've arrived, what do you do now? Reservations for experiences like Savi's Workshop and the Droid Depot may be made 60 days in advance of your arrival. The same goes for dining reservations that you might make at Oga's Cantina, for instance. You can click on "Check Available Days" at each of their respective websites to check on availability. I'm unsure about the logistics of doing this for international guests, so please contact a Cast Member or your travel agent if you need assistance.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be the attraction highlights of Galaxy's Edge. Both are accessible via standby queue, so don't feel like you need a reservation. However, if you'd like to shorten your wait time, there are Lightning Lanes for both attractions. Rise of the Resistance is available via Lightning Lane Single Pass and Smugglers Run can be found on Lightning Lane Multi Pass (I'm sorry if that sounds confusing - I'm afraid that I don't have enough room to cover these but you can always write back to me).

Phew, I hope that was enough information to help you keep planning! I'm excited for you to see Galaxy's Edge! The Imagineers really outdid themselves and I could spend several hours just exploring this place. Thanks again for stopping by and please write back if you need anything else. We'd love to hear from you again!

    Have a Magical Day!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
