I'm planning our first trip to disney for my sons 5th birthday. His only request is to stay at a resort that has a water slide. I'm torn between the Contemporary, Beach Club and Yacht Club. Which of these would be the best for the money, most kid friendly?

Hi Amanda!  A first trip to Walt Disney World is an awesome way to celebrate your son's 5th birthday!

The Contemporary, Yacht Club, and Beach Club resorts are all fabulous, but I think the Beach Club would best fit your needs. It also happens to be one of my favorite resorts! The Yacht and Beach Club share a pool called Stormalong Bay, which is actually a small water park. The slide at Stormalong Bay is one of the largest and best of all the Disney resorts, and the pool also has a lazy river as well as beach and whirlpool areas.

The Beach Club hotel is very luxurious but at the same time, very relaxed and kid-friendly. (The Yacht Club is kid-friendly too, but it feels a little more formal than the Beach Club.) Although the Beach Club isn't on the Magic Kingdom monorail route like the Contemporary, you can walk to Epcot or take a boat to Hollywood Studios.  In addition to the huge pool area and convenient access to the parks, the Beach Club rates are generally less expensive than the Contemporary tower.

Be sure to ask the resort front desk for Birthday and First Visit buttons! Hope your son has a magical birthday!
