I’m planning on being @ Disney World Oct.22nd -25th. Does Magic Kingdom have fireworks on days Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party isn’t happening ?

    Hello Grace,

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you brought us your question and I'm more than happy to assist. Ready to begin?

Magic Kingdom Park is home to Happily Ever After, my very favorite nighttime spectacular. This show features a moving soundtrack, incredible fireworks, and projections of fan-favorite characters and movie scenes on Cinderella Castle and along the storefronts down Main Street, U.S.A. I've watched it in person, on YouTube, and even on my Disney Resorts Collection hotel TV more times than I can count.

I won't spoil any surprises but the show encourages guests to chase their dreams and reach out to find their own happily ever after. It's dazzling, it's memorable and it's sure to inspire. The accompanying song holds extra special meaning for me as it debuted right around the time my family was deciding on a big multi-state move. I still listen to it in my car and get goosebumps thinking about all the emotions associated with following our family's dreams at that time.

Guests can typically view this show every evening, weather permitting of course, except for days when Magic Kingdom Park closes early for a special event. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a prime example, with Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular replacing Happily Ever After on party dates. This show is equally impressive but the party requires a separate ticket to experience.

Tickets for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party went on sale this week for select dates between August 9 and October 31, 2024. If you hope to attend, you'll have two dates to choose from during your visit. Keep in mind that Magic Kingdom Park will close to daytime guests at 6 p.m. on party dates. If you aren't interested in this year's frightfully fun festivities but want to experience fireworks over Cinderella Castle, plan to visit Magic Kingdom Park on October 22nd or 23rd. The Hours & Events Calendar has not been updated that far out just yet, but keep an eye on it as your visit nears for showtimes.

Grace, I'm hoping you'll dive in with your heart wide open and enjoy Happily Ever After just as much as my family does. In the meantime, please come back and see us again with more planning questions. We're always ready to help guests grab hold of their dreams and make them come true.

Reach out and find your Happily Ever After,
    Amy
