Hi there, Juliana! Welcome to planDisney.
Hip, hip, hooray! I'm so happy to hear that you're planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort at the end of December. I can't think of a better way to ring in the new year! Juliana, I'd love to help you with all of your magical plans.
I know you're interested in hearing about the events you can expect for the new year. However, at this time, we haven't heard details for
New Year's Eve celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort quite yet. I would recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog, which always announces these exciting updates first! However, that doesn't mean that you don't have to start planning while you wait. As Mary Poppins says, "In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun!" So let's get started on the fun plans you can make while we wait to hear about New Year's Eve celebrations.
First, make sure that you've made your theme park reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. This is an important step to reserve the parks you'd like to visit on each day of your trip. If you haven't made your theme park reservations already, take a peek at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to see which parks are available during your visit. At the time of this writing, it appears as though Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park are currently available for New Year's Eve. While both parks are sure to give you many magical moments, between the two, I would recommend Disney's Hollywood Studios which is likely to stay open until midnight – perfect for celebrating right into 2023!
I would also make sure that you've taken a little time to download and explore the
My Disney Experience app before you arrive! A little like holding your own magic wand in your hand, this app will let you check wait times for attractions, view park maps, and even
mobile order food - my favorite! This is a great way to minimize the waits and maximize the fun.
Juliana, I'm wishing upon a star that we hear more about New Year's Eve celebrations through the
Disney Parks Blog soon! And if you have any other questions, please visit us again. After all, you've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
