I'm planning a cruise for 4/2014 on the Fantasy and am considering a room with concierge service. Can someone who's cruised with and without it share some of the things they appreciated most?

Welcome aboard, Rebecca! Planning a cruise with Disney is always very exciting, but if you choose to book a Concierge stateroom, you'll have even more help with your cruise plans before you even set foot on the ship.

Concierge guests have access to a private Disney Cruise Line representative on a separate phone number to assist with all of your reservations, Port Adventures, special requests, and anything else you could possibly require before you set sail.

Once onboard, some of the Concierge perks include daily gifts, assistance with reservations, priority tendering (if tenders are required to go ashore), in-room dining from the main dining restaurants, an expanded room service menu, and many others. I love the amazingly plush Concierge robes and slippers that are only available in those staterooms. I wasn't a robe girl, but that Concierge robe certainly converted me. I only wish I could have kept it!

But, I must say that the Concierge assistance is really unnecessary as Cast Members are available to all guests, regardless of stateroom assignment. I actually enjoy making my own changes to reservations, Port Adventures, and things like this by simply calling down to Guest Services from my stateroom. We love ordering complimentary room service on the regular menu available in any stateroom, so we don't usually miss the extra snack treats that are left daily in Concierge rooms.

So, in my opinion, I'd prefer to save the extra money and skip the Concierge service and use that extra money to go on an extra Port Adventure, dine in Palo another night or simply pocket the savings! But, if you're planning a very special celebration for your cruise or you simply want that extra assistance before you sail, going Concierge can make your cruise vacation even more magical. It's really up to you, Rebecca! Enjoy your cruise planning!
