Ahoy, Shirley!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am also looking forward to a
Very Merrytime Cruise this December! I can't wait to see the ship decked out with the beautiful decor and experience all the fun holiday festivities offered onboard. Disney Castaway Cay also gets into the spirit of the season with whimsical, nautical-themed holiday decor! I love to cruise any time of the yEAR, but this is definitely the merriest time on the high seas!
Shirley, you'll love exploring the gorgeous water of
The Bahamas this December. On
Disney Castaway Cay, you'll be able to discover what is "under the sea" using your gear without reserving a Port Adventure. The Snorkeling Lagoon off the Family Beach offers two trails-Discover (beginners) and the Explorer (experienced snorkelers). Before you head in, you'll want to grab a complimentary life vest at either Gil's Fins and Boats or Flippers & Floats for your safety.
Nassau does not offer any areas to snorkel around the cruise port, so a
Port Adventure might be an excellent option for you. This way, Disney Cruise Line takes care of all the details, and you can just show up!
Caribbean Queen Snorkel Tour is one you might consider because it will allow you to see the island on the boat ride to the snorkeling spot off of Athol Island. You'll be off the ship for two to three hours, which will allow plenty of time to enjoy some of the onboard offerings as well!
I'm so glad you cruised over with your question, Shirley! If we can assist you further, please write back.
Have a DREAMy Day!
Nancy
