I’m planning to book a room for my little children to rest after magic kingdom while the older kids park hop. Is it easier to park at the magic kingdom parking lot or the contemporary resort?

Hello Julie! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

Staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort is a practically perfect way to make it easy to venture between Magic Kingdom Park and your Disney Resorts Collection hotel.  I've stayed here a few times, once when I was a kid myself and a few years ago with children of my own! During both trips I admired the beautiful views of Space Mountain and Cinderella Castle, but only during our latest stay did I realize the benefits of being just minutes away from Magic Kingdom!

I think you have a really great idea of spending some time back in your Resort's Guest room with your little ones.  Disney days are incredible but they can be exhausting from all the excitement! I'm sure your little ones will enjoy a nice snooze and maybe even a dip in the pool while you're waiting for the "big" kids to have their fun.

If I were you and had a reservation at Disney's Contemporary Resort I would plan on leaving my car at the Resort instead of moving it to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Because the Contemporary is just about a 10-minute walk to the Magic Kingdom gates it's extremely easy to go back and forth! We really enjoyed the morning strolls, the tired afternoon shuffles and even the nighttime walks with tired babies in our arms.  If you're too tired to walk you can also always take the Resort Monorail which will bring you right back "home" to your Resort.

While the Disney Monorail and the Ferryboat do transport Guests back and forth to the Transportation and Ticket Center, if you're planning on staying the night at Disney's Contemporary Resort you would eventually have to move your vehicle back to your Resort.   I would plan on parking when you arrive at the Resort and using the complimentary (and magical!) transportation provided by Disney!

Enjoy your vacation time with all of your children, Julie!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
