Hey there Greg,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! First off, I have to start by saying you have the best name ever - if I do say so myself. I would imagine my fellow planDisney panelist
Greg G would agree as well. Let's start a club!
Now to your question. I'm thrilled to hear you're headed to
Oogie Boogie Bash - a Disney Halloween Party! I'm headed there in late September and very excited. As for whether you'll be able to bring your Captain America Shield, the short answer is that you should be just fine to bring that into the park.
I answered a
similar question for a Guest a few months ago, but called a Cast Member once again to answer your question this time and she agreed that this should not be an issue. According to the
Park Rules and Regulations, you're not allowed to bring objects or toys that appear to be firearms or weapons. However, there is a specific exception to toy Lightsabers. Being that your Captain America Shield is not a weapon and is sold in the parks means you should be all set to enter with it.
Having said that, any time it has to do with park security, I always give the caveat that it is ultimately up to the discretion of the security checkpoint Cast Members. You'll need to follow the rules they give when you arrive. Again, I suspect you should be just fine, but it might be worth having a backup plan - like being able to store your shield in your vehicle in case you're advised that you're not allowed to bring it in.
While you continue to complete your look for the Oogie Boogie Bash, make sure to also keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog! I'm anticipating a Foodie Guide soon that will cover all the offerings around the Disneyland Resort during the
Halloween Season, and it's possible we'll also see more information about the special event as well!
Thanks again for your question, Greg. I hope you have a frightfully fun time!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg L
