Hey there, Ariana, and welcome to planDisney!
First of all - WOW! That is amazing that you were able to scoop up a
Captain America Vibranium Shield!
While
costumes may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older (except during special events), and
objects or toys that appear to be firearms or weapons are prohibited, it seems like Captain America's shield - similar to lightsabers from
Savi's Workshop - should be fine.
I did
call a Cast Member at the Guest Info line to confirm, and she thought similarly, but added the caveat that it is ultimately up to the discretion of the security checkpoint Cast Members when entering the Disneyland Resort - and we love them for keeping us all safe and having fun during our visits! It'll be important to follow whatever guidance they give when you arrive.
My suggestion would be to take your shield, but have a quick and easy backup plan to store it somewhere else in case they inform you that you're not allowed to bring it into the parks.
During your visit, make sure to spend some time around
Avenger's Campus - you never know who you'll run into! My family and I love starting our days here since it's typically a bit less crowded right at park opening. We usually grab breakfast from
Pym Test Kitchen - though I finally tried the Impossible™ Breakfast Sha-warm-up from
Shawarma Palace and it was incredible. While we eat our breakfast, we're also on hero watch! We usually see quite a few out and about ready to take photos.
Speaking of Shawarma Palace, if you get a chance during your visit, I'd recommend seeing if you can pick up
Mighty Thor's Hammer Drink Vessel to go with your shield and complete your look of one of the most iconic scenes in all of the Marvel cinematic universe (at least, in this panelist's opinion!).
Thank you again for your question, Ariana! Make sure to come back and see us here at planDisney if you think of any follow-ups we can help you with. We could do this all day!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
