Salutations, Sandra.
Hear ye, hear ye: By royal proclamation, I would like to officially welcome you to planDisney! With mere DAYS to go until the clock strikes midnight on your vacation to
The Most Magical Place on Earth, I bet you're feeling a little like Cinderella waiting for the ball to arrive. Are you counting down the hours yet? I know I would be!
Unfortunately, you must be a Guest of a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel to
charge purchases to your MagicBand during your vacation. I know that’s not what you were hoping to hear, so let me give you an alternative. When you arrive at
EPCOT, purchase one of the special
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival Disney Gift Cards for the approximate amount you think you’ll spend during your park day. The Festival gift cards have a wristlet attached, so you can keep it on your wrist for easy access. They are typically sold at many of the Festival merchandise booths,
Creations Shop,
Port of Entry, and Disney Traders. While it’s not quite the same as charging purchases to your MagicBand, it’s just as convenient to scan the gift card each time you make a purchase. This is typically what my husband and I do, especially when partaking in the food at EPCOT’s Festival booths, because it helps us to stick to our budget. If you happen to run out of funds during the day, you can always reload it at one of the merchandise locations in EPCOT. If you have leftover funds at the end of the day, you can use the gift card essentially anywhere on property or on
shopDisney. Plus, the Festival gift card makes an adorable souvenir!
Sandra, I’m sorry you won’t be able to charge purchases to your MagicBand like you were hoping to, but I hope this alternative works out for you. If you have any other questions before your arrival, don’t hesitate to stop back by planDisney.
See ya real soon,
Alyssa
