I'm not in the Military just yet but I was wondering if I decide to use the Disney Vacation Planning to book a trip could I add my discount later on?

Welcome to planDisney, Ava, we are thrilled to meet you!

Congratulations on your journey. I know Moana would be so proud to meet a Wayfinder like yourself as you embark on this new journey. Walt Disney World does a great job of honoring eligible service members and their families. Currently, you can find that there is a promotion on rooms and tickets.

As a military spouse myself, we take advantage of these great savings and book our trips separately so that we can use the resort savings and the Military Salute ticket. When we start planning, I always start with booking our resort. After that, I usually purchase our Military Salute tickets from our local military ticketing office and link them to My Disney Experience account.

I’ll be honest, being a military family, plans can change, so we always have potential backup travel dates if needed. However, things have usually always worked out and we don’t need to adjust our dates. If you are planning on using the Military Salute promotional ticket, I would wait until you receive your military ID to purchase those. Especially since theme park tickets are nonrefundable so you don’t want to purchase a different package if you are set on using the military offer. If you rather get started now, you can select a different deal offered through Walt Disney World. Sometimes the available Walt Disney World offers work out better for my family so that’s always another option I recommend checking out.

Ava, I hope this helps you start planning for your upcoming visit. If there’s anything else we can help with, don’t hesitate to ask.

    Enjoy your journey voyager,

Meet the Panelist: Shantel, Alabama

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
