I'm not an adventure ride person (ie tot and most roller coasters), but my DW & DD are. So is there a way that I can wait in line with them but make a "quiet" exit before they reach the ride itself? Thanks! This panel has been great w/planning

Yes absolutely. Every thrill ride has a last-minute escape exit. Some people call this the "chicken exit." I prefer to call it the "exit for people who are thoughtful and intelligent" :-).

My family has made use of these exits many times, sometimes unexpectedly, like when my daughter decided that she was having second thoughts about the Tower of Terror, and sometimes this was planned, like when my mother wanted to see the incredible artifacts in the Expedition Everest queue area but did not want to go on the ride. You are certainly welcome to wait in line with your wife and daughter, slip out the side as they are boarding, and then meet them at the exit.
