I'm a new DVC member and I'm trying to figure out the whole booking way ahead thing. How full does the Epcot Food and Wine fest get the first weekend of festival? and how long in advance will I have to book my DVC reservation? Thanks!

    Hi Giselle!

Congratulations on becoming a new Disney Vacation Club Member, and let me be one of the first to wish you a warm, “Welcome Home!”

I am a proponent of booking as far in advance as possible for our Disney Vacation Club vacations.  There is no penalty for changing or modifying a reservation, as long as it is at least 31 days prior to the check-in date, so I feel it better to book something rather than wait. I can always try to change my dates or resort as the trip gets closer, if the availability allows.

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a very popular event for Members. Both Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s Boardwalk Villas book very quickly for this time of year, and in general it is usually booked by those Members who call those resorts their Home Resort during their Home Resort Advantage 11 month booking window. Other Disney Vacation Club Resorts won’t fill quite as quickly, but again, I always feel booking sooner is better.

If you are booking for the first week of the festival which begins on September 25, 2015, your Home Resort could be booked as early as October 25, 2014, and any other Disney Vacation Club Resort beginning February 25, 2015.

Thank you for visiting us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and feel free to ask any additional questions we can help you with as your learn more about your exciting new Disney Vacation Club Membership!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
