Welcome aboard, Courtney!
It sounds like you're getting ready to set sail out of
Port Canaveral for an exciting adventure at sea for the first time with
Disney Cruise Line! My family and I have sailed all over the world with Disney from many different home ports, but most often out of Port Canaveral. That means that we have had the opportunity to add some extra Disney magic to our cruises by spending a few days at the
Walt Disney World Resort before or after our sailings: a true
land and sea vacation!
If you fly in a few days prior to your cruise, stay at one of the Disney Resorts and spend a few days in the parks. It's a magical beginning to your Disney vacation! Then, book the optional
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transfers which will take you right from your
Disney Resort to Port Canaveral (or to your resort after your cruise if you sail first). Disney makes it super easy to transition from land to sea and back again, so I highly recommend booking their transfers.
My family and I prefer to visit the Disney Parks before we cruise since we love to see it all, but it does wear us out. So, it's really nice to have the relaxing, yet still exciting and adventurous cruise to look forward to after our days in the parks.
Have so much fun planning this sailing, Courtney, and please stop back again if you have further questions before you set out to sea with Captain Mickey and his crew! We're happy to help!
