Hi I'm going to mnsshp and I was planning on going as Mary poppins but I read that adults cannot dress up like disney characters. My costume is homemade and while it would have a likeness to her I doubt I'd be mistaken for her should I just not wear it?

    Hi, Erin!

I am a huge fan of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and try to attend every year! This seasonal special event at Walt Disney World Resort is a favorite of many Guests -- and with good reason! The Halloween parade and fireworks are truly spectacular and there are lots of Disney characters out and about, including the Seven Dwarfs, Jack Skellington and Sally, Princes, Villains and Jack Sparrow!

So this is one of those instances where you can't believe everything you read because adults may absolutely dress as Disney characters for the Halloween Party. In fact, this is the one event during which adults are permitted to wear costumes in the parks. (Normally, only children up to age 9 may wear costumes in the parks.) The only stipulation is that adults dressing as Disney characters may not pass themselves off as the genuine article: they may not pose for photos or sign autographs for other Guests.

I love your idea of dressing as Mary Poppins! Wouldn't it be fun if Mary Poppins were appearing in Magic Kingdom that day and you could have a photo taken of the two of you together?!

Wishing you a frightfully good time at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
